I still make mistakes once in a while setting up recurring transactions. But after you get used to it, again, its not bad at all. I guess what I'm saying is if you were a fan of Quicken, you'll like Banktivity once you get used to the minor differences. I've been researching Quicken alternatives for Mac recently and been curious about Banktivity and a few others that don't require you to store everything in the cloud or lock your data into a subscription. Any recommendations/endorsements? Banktivity is the only legitimate Quicken alternative in my mind. And it’s great!
I just successfully installed Quicken 2011 Premier under CrossOver 9.1 on a Mac running 10.6.5 (Snow Leopard). It was not entirely smooth, so here is the way I finally managed to get it to run after several wrong starts and dead ends. It may help someone save time: 1) create a new WinXP bottle 2) install Internet Explorer 7.0 from CrossOver's standard apps list (this will prevent the Quicken Installer from installing Internet Explorer 6.0). It will go to the first-time-only setup page: pick any option, then press the button 'Save my Options' (or similar). This will either work ('Your settings have been saved') or not ('Your settings could not be saved').
Many users find that using an external keyboard with keyboard shortcuts for Word 2016 for Mac helps them work more efficiently. For users with mobility or vision disabilities, keyboard shortcuts are an essential alternative to using a mouse. This article itemizes the keyboard shortcuts for Word 2016 for Mac. Insert footnote reference in word. For some reason Microsoft Word 2016 on the Mac does not have a default keyboard shortcut for footnotes. I find it tedious to take my hands off the keyboard, click insert > footnote (yes, it only takes a couple seconds but it really breaks up the flow of writing). If you add, delete, or move a cross-referenced footnote or endnote, you must update the cross-reference number. Hold down CONTROL, click the cross-reference number, and then click Update Field on the shortcut menu. Word updates cross-references automatically when you print.
I followed them and was able to open Quicken2011 after I installed.NET 3. That seemed to do the trick.
Its dual-entry accounting engine is totally reliable, and the initial migration of.qif files is reasonably straight forward, if one follows Moneydance’s instructions. After reading user reviews on several sites, I have found that the same cannot be said for iBank, SEE Finance or Money (Jumsoft), the leading options I was considering.
But once you actually start using the app on a daily basis, you might be as frustrated as I am about how it functions. After trying this app for 6 months, I have discovered dozens of bugs in the product, which I have reported to technical support to no avail. Oh, by the way, regarding their technical support: the company often takes 4-6 weeks to respond to inquiries.
They told me that I should either start from scratch with a clean slate, or manually scroll through 22 years of data to try to figure out where the problems are. Highly unlikely. Given Moneydance’s aversion to Mac users, this is one product that Mac users should avoid. Is something that many Mac users are eyeing, to run in a virtual environment on their Macs (such as Parallels or VMWare Fusion). Hi, Thanks to everyone for their work on Quicken 2011. I heeded the warning from Codeweavers in David Levitan's 'Installing Quicken 2011 Deluxe' tip and trick, and installed Quicken Premier 2011 (U.S. Version) into new bottles (WinXP) using CrossTie under Crossover Linux Professional 10.0.0 running under openSUSE 11.3 64-bit and Ubuntu 10.10 64-bit on the same multi-booting workstation. However, online help no longer actually displayed help, just blank pages.
I only use it for keeping track of things like checking, savings, keeping track of loans, my 401K. It can download transactions from my banks and updating my 401K is easy. I am able to keep track of my budget and the application reminds me of upcoming bills and repeating transactions as well as forecast a few weeks into the future based on those repeating transactions. I've read the bad reviews as well before buying it and after reading many of them decided these people want more than the application was designed to do.
